When I get serious about eating healthier or losing a few pounds, there’s nothing worse than not being able to have something a little sweet. Or feeling that gnawing hunger when you can’t fall asleep at night.

This is where the sheer magic of God’s gift to the world (fruit) comes in. And the overwhelming benefits of adding fruit have been underestimated, especially in the weight loss community.

So, what is the best fruit for weight loss, and how can it help with gut health and digestion?

This post will help clear up some myths about fruit and detoxing with simple tips you may not have tried yet.

I had the privilege of working with a friend and registered dietician who walked me through my first 14-day fruit cleanse a couple years ago.

After just a few days, my energy, skin, and hair improved drastically. You could say that I saw the “fruit” of my discipline (goodbye 7lbs!)

This was when I realized the power of eating fruit the right way

It’s not talked about much because, well, there’s an abundance of fruit that’s easily accessible and affordable.

So, whether you’re looking to do fruit juicing, cleansing, or aid in your weight loss regime, this is the list for you!

Lemons

Buying organic fruit isn’t always an option. It can be expensive or hard to find. However, I see and taste a big difference between organic and conventional lemons. Because lemons are powerful for cleansing, I do my best to avoid the pesticide residue on their peels.

Lemons contain high amounts of soluble fibervitamins Cplant compoundsphytonutrients, flavonoids, various antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

Lemons may support weight loss, healthy digestion, absorption of iron from plant foods, and more.

Tip to aid in weight loss and detoxification: Add juice from one lemon in cup of warm water and drink first thing in the morning.

Organic Grapes

This is another fruit that I highly recommend you buy organic when possible. Such a beautiful fruit for hydration and snacking on. Adding to the list of the best fruit for weight loss.

They have a high water content that may keep you hydrated. Grapes are packed with nutrients and contain several polyphenols (known for anti-inflammatory properties), high antioxidants, vitamins K, A, C, and B6, minerals, and dietary fiber. Grapes may support weight loss, heart health, lower blood pressure, reduced cholesterol, and more.

Tip for eating more grapes: Try freezing your grapes and use them to chill your water or low calorie beverage.

Watermelon

When my friend and dietician walked me through my first 14-day fruit cleanse, I chose watermelon as my primary go-to. I can’t express how amazing this fruit was for my health and weight loss goals.

It has some of the highest water content that may keep you hydrated, making it one of the best fruits for juicing. Deliciously delightful for that sweet tooth and packed with nutrients. Containing antioxidants, vitamins A, C, potassium, magnesium, and plant compounds.

Watermelon may support weight loss and hydration, counteract allergies, muscle fatigue, and more.

Tip to aide in weight loss: Snack on one cup of watermelon in the afternoon when your digestive system is the strongest.
